Back in high-school the physics teacher showed us a fascinating experiment. Take a lemon, a two plates of copper and zinc. Together they make a battery!
I was sure this recipe would come handy some day. Five years later at the Design Academy Eindhoven CuZn was born. And I actually managed to make it work (for at least 2 hours).

tilthouse
The result of 4 years Design Academy Eindhoven. This was my solution to housing shortage in big cities. Here's a brief description:
To meet the demands and problems of modern life, a new way of living has to be created. In many large cities, there is a shortage of housing accomodation, and because the traditional way of building is not very flexible, a new, fast and effective concept had to be created to solve this problem.
The tilthouse is functional in 2 positions and thereby has an optimal use of space. Almost every object in this house can be put to a different use, depending on the stance. For example after a rotation of 180°, a dining table becomes a suspended bed. The house is space saving and without unnecessary luxury.
The second advantage is the mobility of the house. It had to be designed in such a way that it was easy to transport. As a result, different kinds of people and companies will be able to use it. Above all, people can use it for short stay accomodation, for example to house asylum seekers or students.
